Coming soon to the Shopify App Store

Keep the sale when an order comes back.

Customers start returns from their Shopify account and see exchanges first: a new size or colour, a different product, or store credit. Refunds stay on the list too.

A free plan and flat monthly plans. No fees per return, no overages, no sales call.

Exchanges first. Refunds never hidden.

Shopify’s own self-serve returns don’t let customers ask for an exchange. Comeback does, and it lists the options that keep revenue in your store before the refund.

  1. Swap size or colour

Same product, another variant. A swap never costs your customer more than they paid.

  2. Choose a different product

From collections you pick, up to the value of the returned item. Starter plan and up.

  3. Take store credit

Paid as Shopify’s own store credit, which customers spend at your checkout. Add an optional bonus on Starter and up.

  4. Get a refund

Shown whenever your policy allows it. No countdowns, nothing pre-selected, no guilt-trip copy.

Want something pricier than the return? Comeback suggests store credit instead: it doesn’t collect extra payments for exchanges yet.

How it works

Setup is designed to take under five minutes, with no call and no theme code.

ML
  1. Install and accept the defaults

Comeback checks your store for New Customer Accounts and store credit, then suggests defaults: a 30-day window, swaps, store credit and refunds, auto-approve on. Change any of it later.

  2. Customers ask from their account

A Return or exchange button appears on eligible orders in the Shopify customer account. Customers choose the items, a reason and a resolution.

  3. You approve, receive and resolve

Requests that fit your rules are approved automatically; the rest wait in one queue. When the parcel arrives, Receive & resolve records what goes back into stock and issues the swap, credit or refund.

What’s in the first release

Everything below is in the version going to the Shopify App Store. If it isn’t listed here, Comeback doesn’t do it yet.

For your customers

  • A Return or exchange button in their Shopify customer account
  • Size and colour swaps, other products, store credit and refunds
  • Return reasons, with an optional note
  • Confirmation emails in English or German
  • A no-login withdrawal form for EU orders

For you

  • One queue: approve, decline with a reason, receive and resolve
  • Approved requests become Shopify’s own returns, so they show in your admin as usual
  • Automatic approval for requests that fit your rules
  • Rules per region: EEA, UK, US and rest of world, each with its own window and optionsOne region group on Free, four on Starter, unlimited from Growth.
  • Final-sale items excluded by product tag
  • Serial-returner flag and customer block listFlagged requests always go to your review, never to an automatic decline. Starter and up.
  • Restock or not, item by item, when a return arrives
  • Analytics: exchange-retention rate, revenue kept, top reasons, most-returned products
  • Admin in English and German

Not in Comeback yet

  • Return shipping labels. Customers send items back to your address with your instructions. On Shopify Shipping you can still buy a return label in your admin.
  • Exchanges where the customer pays a difference. They’re offered store credit instead.
  • Return tracking, SMS, gift cards and photo uploads.
  • Exchanges on orders sold through Shopify Managed Markets, where a Merchant of Record sells for you. Customers are told why and can choose store credit or a refund.
  • Point-of-sale and B2B orders.
  • Legacy customer accounts. The exchange flow needs New Customer Accounts; the EU withdrawal form works with both.

An EU withdrawal button for guest orders, free on every plan

Since 19 June 2026, shops selling to consumers in the EU need a withdrawal function: a clearly labelled button, a separate confirmation step, and an acknowledgement on a durable medium. Switch on the app embed and Comeback adds one to your storefront footer for visitors in the EEA. Guests can use it without signing in.

Comeback helps you provide a withdrawal function. It doesn’t make your store compliant on its own: your own policies and settings still matter, and nothing here is legal advice.

How the withdrawal form works
  1. A link in your footerLabelledWithdraw from contract hereVertrag widerrufen
  2. Name, order number, email and itemsNo reason asked, no account needed.
  3. A separate confirmation stepThe button readsConfirm withdrawalWiderruf bestätigen
  4. An acknowledgement emailWith the full declaration and the date and time it was received.
  5. A return request in your Shopify adminFor fulfilled items. You’re alerted about anything not yet shipped.

What you won’t find on your bill

Comeback costs one flat monthly price. These are the charges we don’t make, on any plan.

More requests than your plan includes? The extra requests wait for your review. They’re never blocked and never charged.

Questions merchants ask

Can I install Comeback today?

Not yet. Comeback is in development: the core buyer and merchant flows are built and pass automated tests, and testing in a Shopify development store comes next. After that, it goes through Shopify’s App Store review. Want early access? Tell us about your store and we’ll reply personally.

What happens if we get more requests than our plan includes?

Nothing is blocked and nothing extra is charged. Requests above your monthly number wait in your queue for you to approve, instead of being approved automatically. You’ll see a banner suggesting a bigger plan; whether you upgrade is up to you.

Does Comeback create return shipping labels?

Not yet. Customers send items back to your address using the instructions you set. If you use Shopify Shipping, you can still buy a label for the return in your Shopify admin as usual.

Do we need New Customer Accounts?

For the return and exchange flow, yes: it runs inside Shopify’s New Customer Accounts. The EU withdrawal form works on either account type. You can switch in Settings, Customer accounts.

Is the store credit Shopify’s own?

Yes. Comeback issues Shopify’s native store credit, which customers see in their account and spend at checkout. Store credit has to be switched on in your Shopify settings. Stores created after 12 May 2025 pay Shopify’s third-party transaction fees on amounts paid with store credit; that fee is Shopify’s, not ours.

Do you charge our customers anything?

No. Comeback never adds fees, insurance or checkout add-ons for your shoppers.

How do we cancel?

Change your plan or uninstall in Shopify’s billing screen whenever you like. No call, no email, no cancellation fee.

What happens to our data when we uninstall?

Shopify tells us 48 hours after you uninstall, and we then delete your shop’s data within 30 days. Export your withdrawal log before you go: once deleted, it can’t be recovered.

Who answers support?

Email support comes from the team that builds the app. Reply targets depend on your plan, from two business days on Free to the same business day on Pro.
